Living Fit ....... one day at a a time!
My journey to health and fitness really began in my late teens.. so i thought... but it wasn't until 2003, after 1 year of "cleaning up my act" from alcohol and drugs that the path narrowed. Even though I was sober, I was still sick. The residual affects from a lifestyle as a fitness professional by day.. and the alcohol/drugs at nite and on weekends made me very sick. I went to a Naturopathic doctor in Scottsdale, AZ only to find I had a host of food allergies, Adrenal Disorder Level 3 (you can die at Level 4) and Candida infection in my digestive tract!. It took me about 1 year to get back on track ...but it was a very natural approach. Beside many additional supplement and bodywork.. I HAD to change the way I ate.
At first I baulked.. but then I took the "one day at a time" approach.. and starting making "the right" choices. The healthier I ate.. the better I felt.. but something still seems "off" ...
That was then.. this is now!
A year ago I "discovered" a raw food lifestyle.. I was so close before.. but I cooked alot of my food... destroying all the enzymes and nutrients so vital to optimal health. Over the past year.. and with the inspiration from Alissa's book I not only feel great.. but everone around me comments on how amazing I look..... for someone who is about to turn 53!
Today.. I am a full-time fitness professional... teaching pilates, yoga, indoor cycling,, weight training, water aerobics and golf fitness. I believe that exercise is only half the battle to fight disease and turn back the hands of time. Food is the other half.
Fitness is my job... food is my passion! You have the choice AND the power to live fit... one day at a time too... I can help!
